Coin Street introduces new drop-in gardening club

As the long winter finally gives way to spring, Coin Street Community Builders have  launched a new gardening club at the newly-improved Bernie Spain Gardens.  Everyone is welcome at the Tuesday gardening sessions, running from 11.30am-4pm.  They are billed as an opportunity to meet new people, learn about growing vegetables, herbs and plants and share healthy food.

The sessions of 10 and 17 April will focus on improving the flower bed in the Bernie Spain Garden's southern section.  These sessions are to plant a range of pollinator plants to help improve biodiversity.  The plants have been chosen to provide much needed nectar and attract insects which in turn will provide a food source for birds.

Meet at the Colombo Centre, 34-68 Colombo Street, London SE1 8DP at 11.30am for tea/coffee or meet in the Bernie Spain Gardens (by Stamford Street) from 12noon. Soup and bread lunch provided.
